In the early hours of December 10th, 2023, a joint team of police operatives and vigilant members, led by Area Commander Dutsinma, successfully intervened in a perilous situation on the Dutsinma-Kankara highway. Acting on credible intelligence, the team encountered suspected armed robbers and kidnappers wielding dangerous AK-47 rifles.

Upon arrival at the scene, the operatives faced gunfire from the criminals. In a display of professionalism and bravery, the officers swiftly retaliated, neutralizing three gang members. Unfortunately, Masa’udu Sani, a vigilant member, sustained a gunshot wound on his right hand and is currently receiving medical attention.

Commissioner of Police for Katsina State Command, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, psc+, commended the operatives for their exemplary performance, emphasizing the importance of citizens' cooperation in providing timely information on criminal activities. CP Musa urged residents to report any individuals displaying suspicious injuries, as some bandits managed to escape the scene with gunshot wounds. The investigation is ongoing, with efforts focused on apprehending the remaining suspects.
